Your data
What ClaudeArena keeps about you, what it never keeps, and how to have it deleted.
- What's stored: your callname, a scrambled (hashed) form of your password that can't be turned back into it, a scrambled key for your signed-in device (and, for 30 days, for one signed out because you signed in elsewhere, so it can tell you why), your sittings (the questions shown, your answers and times), your leaderboard scores, your progress (XP, the badges you've earned, and your score on each exam objective: how many of your answers on it were right, in total and recently), any question reports you send (what's wrong and your optional note), which results you've chosen to share, when your callname was last used, and a scrambled (hashed) form of each of your recovery codes, with when the set was made and when each code was used. Your password itself never leaves your browser. When a password reset with a recovery code fails, or signing in to a callname is locked after too many wrong passwords, the site's error log keeps a scrambled form of the callname for 3 days, never the code or the password.
- What isn't: no names, email addresses or tracking cookies. IP addresses are never stored as they are; only scrambled counters used to prevent abuse, which expire after a day. The site also keeps daily totals of what happens on it (for example, how many practice sessions started, or how many answers on each objective were right), with nothing about who.
- In your browser: that device's sign-in key, your theme choice, a random browser id used only to count free practice sessions (stored scrambled on the server, for a day), and while a session is running, its id, so it can be picked back up if the page reloads (removed when the session ends). Nothing else: your XP and badges belong to your callname, so they follow you to any device you sign in on. Recovery codes are never kept in your browser by the site; a copy you download or paste is yours to keep.
- Buy me a coffee: the link goes to Buy Me a Coffee, a separate site. Following it sends nothing about you or your callname, and anything you give there is between you and that site.
- Retention: sittings that don't end on the leaderboard are removed after about a week. A saved Practice session is marked saved until your midnight, then it's no longer offered. Your score per objective is a running total rather than a record of each answer, and is kept until you delete your callname. When your callname was last used is kept so that callnames nobody uses can be tidied away one day; no rule removes them yet, and this page will say so before one does.
- Deleting: "Delete my callname and scores" on your account page removes your callname, its last-used date, devices, recovery codes, sittings, scores, objective scores, badges, reports and shared links for good.
Questions or requests about your data: email contact@claudearena.dev. An email sent to that address is kept in its mailbox, which is separate from the site, only as long as it's needed to answer it.
